Happy New Year to all friends, family, and loved ones, and to all our supporters, guests and House Members
January 1st, 2023 — The fireworks that lit up the night sky over Lympstone Manor and the Exe estuary last night helped us to see out the old year and welcome in the new. As we look forward to 2023 it is with the greatest gratitude that I write this. 2022, as well as the previous two years, have not been easy for any of us. For so many of us, there have been personal as well as professional challenges. I am thankful that throughout this period so many of you have found joy, peace, solace and happiness here with us at Lympstone Manor. This is a very special place made even more so by the fabulous team that I have around me who all work so hard to make your visits exceptional in every way. I am truly grateful and give my heartfelt thanks to them all.
Though the past three years have been challenging, I am proud that we have nonetheless managed to move forward with some significant improvements.
The Shepherd Huts opened in 2020 that sit at the bottom of the vineyard have proved extremely popular over the past years, providing a way to escape into nature while enjoying the luxury and comfort that our guests deserve. The Huts have also been a wonderful way to bring more families into Lympstone Manor. If you are interested in a stay in our luxury Huts, do take advantage of our Shepherd’s Delight offer that runs until March 31st.
Our biggest addition this past year has been the creation of the Pool House Restaurant & Bar that centres on an outdoor leisure area that includes a beautiful 18 metre heated swimming pool, championship tennis court, croquet lawn and changing area. The Pool House provides our guests and House Members with a casual dining option in the glass fronted Pool House that offers spectacular views over the vineyard to the estuary and across to Berry Head. Though normally available exclusively to residents and House Members, through the winter months the Pool House Restaurant & Bar is open to non-residents and we are offering an exciting two- and three-course menu.
The Lympstone Manor vineyard, now in its fifth year, is fully established with the roots of the Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay vines now extending deep into the underlying East Devon pebblebed. Having tasted barrel and bottle samples of our first vintages, I am wholly confident that we will soon be able to offer you our own range of Lympstone Manor single estate wines that are of the very highest quality. I can’t wait for you to try them!
Lympstone Manor will be closed from January 8th-18th to allow our hardworking team a well-deserved rest as well as for us to be able to carry out essential annual maintenance. On reopening on January 19th, I invite you to take advantage of our Three for Two Winter offer (valid until the end of March) that gives a three night stay for the price of two, a chance for you to really settle into relaxed and easy life on the estuary in East Devon.
Finally, I would like to thank all of you, our loyal supporters, those who are regulars with us, as well as those who have visited for the first time this year, or who may be planning, perhaps, to visit us in the future. Your interest and support in all that I do is hugely valued and appreciated.
I start the New Year mindful of the challenges that lie ahead, yet full of hope and excitement for the future. Life is beautiful and precious and we must treasure every single moment.
I hope to see you soon!
Michael
