“There’s a great saying in life that says “charity starts at home, for us home is Exeter & Devon”, so being involved with The Exeter Chiefs Foundation is a great honour and one that benefits the local area through charitable activities.” – Michael Caines MBE
The Exeter Foundation was established in 2011 by the Executive of Exeter Rugby Club and further local business men who have a passion for fundraising (and rugby). The foundation acts as a fundraising body with a commitment to the future prosperity of Greater Exeter, and also as a vehicle for promoting civic pride. As a trustee of the foundation, Michael recognises the importance of their work and encourages fundraising at Lympstone Manor throughout the year at events or through sponsorship.
The foundation helps 20 smaller charities in and around Exeter, also funding local organisations and projects concentrating on making Exeter a better city. The Exeter Foundation has raised a total of £1m and has helped over 80 projects or charities.
Charities which benefit from the services of the Exeter Foundation include, The Royal Marines Charity, Dream-A-Way, Elf (Exeter Leukaemia Fund) and Force Cancer Charity.
Earlier this year we raised £1,500 for the foundation and will be hosting a very special dinner with Rob Baxter to help raise more vital funds.
