Unwind with your best friend at Lympstone Manor, the luxury dog-friendly hotel in Devon

By Marc Millon

Who doesn’t love to travel with those-we-love-best, including our partners, families, closest friends, and of course our furry companions too. None of us like to leave our dogs behind when we slip away for a few nights of rest and relaxation, be it a long weekend or a staycation. At Lympstone Manor, you don’t have to go through the tenuous process of finding a pet-sitter for your beloved pooch, as we offer the experience of a luxury dog-friendly hotel in Devon that will accommodate both you and your furry friend. We have two dog-friendly suites where your pampered pooch can make him or herself completely at home. All of our luxury Shepherd Huts located in woodland at the bottom of the Lympstone Manor Estate vineyard are dog-friendly.

Whether you are staying in the Manor House or in a Shepherd Hut, our parkland is a wonderful and safe playground for your dog to explore and discover, with walks through the sculpture garden and the historic Lady’s Walk, amongst the vines and down to the foreshore of the scenic Exe Estuary view. Immediately outside our grounds there is a public mixed-use path that leads to Lympstone village going north and Exmouth to the south. Exmouth beach is dog-friendly all year round at its east and west ends, while the entire beach welcomes dogs from October 1st through April 30th. In winter Exmouth beach becomes every dog’s paradise, with four-legged pooches often outnumbering humans!

Other favourite dog-walking destinations near Lympstone Manor include the newly opened Ottery Estuary footpath that leads from Budleigh Salterton to Otterton. Woodbury Common has a vast network of footpaths where dogs can roam safely on or off the lead, although please do check as some areas will require dogs on the lead due to livestock and Exmoor ponies.

The South West Coastal Footpath that runs along the famed UNESCO-cited Jurassic Coast is another popular dog-walking destination. And all of Dartmoor, with its vast open spaces, is no more than 45 minutes away by car.

The Lympstone Manor team love dogs and will do everything they can to make them welcome and valued guests, as we do with their owners. In each dog-friendly hotel room, we provide them with their very own dog bed, towel, torch and dog bowl.  Whilst we ask that dogs do not come into the main house, they are welcome on our public terraces and throughout the grounds as well as at our casual dining Pool House Restaurant. There is a heated swimming pool open all year round, a tennis court, and croquet lawn.

If you are looking for somewhere special to go away where both your dog and you will be pampered and made to feel special in equal measure, then look no further than Lympstone Manor, Devon’s luxury dog-friendly hotel.
