In 1901 a very special guest is coming to dinner… A Duke nonetheless! In his honour a whole wealth of dignitaries has been invited to this evening, some famous and some infamous. We all know what can happen at these sorts of gatherings, someone always has an axe to grind with someone else but will the animosity manifest itself in a way that means the demise of a guest?
So, put on your best ball gown or tails and have dinner with the Duke. And no, the butler did not do it…probably.
The Candlelight Theatre Company was established way back in 1994 and have been performing non-stop ever since. The company performs a range of plots and have over 45 excellent professional actors in their cast ensuring the highest quality performance, entertainment and intrigue.
You will enjoy a four-course dinner with canapés and coffee and petit fours plus a glass of champagne on arrival. There will be a suggested wine pairing which can be pre-ordered or a selection of wines by the bottle and glass to choose and indulge in on the night.
The evening will commence at 6.30pm with canapés and an arrival drink, taking seats at 7.00pm in the fine dining restaurant for a fun evening of delicious food and murder mystery! We encourage guests to get into the theme of the evening and we have ‘Favourite Evening Attire’ as a suggested dress code. There’s the chance to win a bottle of Lympstone Manor Classic Cuvée for the best dressed guest!
Drama Meets Elegance – This is your chance to lean into the theatrical ambiance of a duke’s dinner party – in 1901, style was both sumptuous and restrained. For ladies, mix pale silks with elaborate lace, pearl accessories, and flowing hairstyles adorned with feathers or flowers to evoke opulence. Gentlemen can contrast in structured, dark-tailored formality, adding depth to the mystery and intrigue.
