Beat the Winter blues with a last-minute New Year’s break at Lympstone Manor

The winter blues; familiar to many, especially those living in the UK where the weather can often be unpredictable at best and utterly abysmal at worst. Is there any better way to beat them than by booking a last-minute New Year’s break to Lympstone Manor? Probably not. Let us tell you why…

With a stunning location overlooking the Exe estuary and nestled in 28 acres of beautiful East Devon countryside, Lympstone Manor is the ideal exclusive winter getaway.

Winter is by far the cosiest time of year to experience Lympstone Manor. The fire in the lounge is lit and the welcome is warm and inviting. During the festive holidays, the Manor is beautifully decorated to create the perfect Christmas ambience for an unforgettable winter break.

Snuggle up in a comfortable guestroom or suite (each named after the birds of the estuary), under luxurious bed linen, soak in one of our opulent bathtubs (indoors or out!), and indulge yourself in some serious self-care by dining on Michael Caines’ fabulous Michelin-star cuisine.

Or why not experience a stay in one of six luxury Shepherd’s Huts. The wood-fire stove is already laid for you, and your stay will be warm and comfortable amidst the beauty of the parkland situated below the Lympstone Manor Estate vineyard, by the foreshore of the stunning Exe estuary.

There is still a small amount of availability to visit Lympstone Manor for a very special and luxurious New Year’s Eve break including a black-tie Gala Dinner that includes a sensational and sumptuous menu crafted by award-winning chef owner Michael Caines MBE paired with some of the finest wines from Lympstone Manor’s extensive cellar. This is followed by live music, dancing, and, at midnight, a spectacular firework display over the Exe estuary to mark a New Year and new beginnings – what more could you want from a winter break?

If you can’t make it at New Year’s, then why not consider a winter break in January, traditionally the dreariest and longest month – arguably the home of the winter blues – by which time the days will be beginning to lengthen again, and you can comfort yourself by enjoying fabulous food and wine in either the Lympstone Manor Restaurant or more the informal Pool House depending on your mood. And you can even keep to your New Year’s resolution exercise regime with laps in our year-round heated swimming pool, or long walks along the South West Coastal Path or Dartmoor.

Lympstone Manor is a beautiful place to visit at all times of the year. But in the dead of winter, whether over the festive holidays a special New Year’s break, or post-Christmas in January or February, when you aren’t quite ready for the merriment to be over, it becomes a magical refuge, the perfect escape from those winter blues.
