Our themed wine dinner this month will feature the fantastic food and wines of Portugal and the evening will be hosted by Damon Little from Liberty Wines. Portugal has over 250 indigenous grape varieties which is more that any other country in the world and this is what makes the wines so interesting, historically largely known just for its high quality fortified wine production it is only in recent years that it has it really started to blossom with its reluctance to plant international varieties which is now paying dividends due to the wide range of unique flavour profiles that have become their selling point.
There are 14 different wine regions including Maderia and for many Portugal is the last major producer in Europe that is still yet largely undiscovered. Damon will introduce a selection of stunning regional wines paired with a seasonal menu which really does showcase some fantastic examples from the Liberty Wine portfolio, ranging from the crisp dry whites from the northerly Minho region and through the heart of Portugal and into the Dao and Douro regions where some incredibly fresh and full flavoured reds can be found.
The evening will commence at 7.00pm with canapés and arrival fizz taking seats in the Pool House
Restaurant for a superbly matched menu designed and prepared by Michael and his team.
We look forward to welcoming you to Lympstone Manor for this wonderful and fun evening of food and wine.
