Italian Wine Dinner – Wines from the amazing Estate of Allegrini

For those who are interested in fine wines from Italy we are to host a dinner here at Lympstone Manor with a broad selection of stunning wines that cover the portfolio of one of the most highly recognised producers in the country.
The Allegrini estate is located north of the beautiful city of Verona and they have been producing wine in Valpolicella since the 16th century. It has been their love of the land and commitment to enhancing the potential of Valpolicella and its viticultral traditions that has made them one of the leading wine companies in Italy. Franco Allegrini and his brother Walter explored ways of improving the local and traditional wine making techniques which has paved the way for later generations, there should be particular credit given in relation to the improved methods for the production of Amarone and the wonderful sweet Recioto. In addition to this they also gradually introduced innovative changes to their vineyards including different trellising systems to increase density and the planting of international grape varietals. They are truly a benchmark property for the region.

The dinner will be hosted by Giampietro Tinazzo from Allegrini who will introduce a selection of stunning wines paired with Michaels seasonal menu which showcase the very best examples from a number of different vineyards. The evening will commence at 7.00pm with canapés and a glass of fizz, taking seats at 7.30pm in the elegant Mamhead dining room for a superbly matched menu designed by Michael and prepared by our kitchen team.
