14th May – Loire Valley Wine Dinner
For those who are interested in fine wines from the Loire Valley we are to host a dinner here at Lympstone Manor with a broad selection of stunning wines that cover the length and breadth of one of the most underrated classic regions in France.
There will be wines to match every course from as far west as Muscadet near the city of Nantes on the Atlantic coast following the river right across to the region of Sancerre located just southeast of the city of Nantes in north central France. In between are the exciting regions of Anjou, Saumur, Bourgeil, Chinon and Vouvray. The Loire valley which is often referred to as the “Garden of France” is home to over 4,000 wineries and 69 AOC (Appellations de d’Origine Côntrolées).
This vast and beautiful area produces a huge range a quality driven wine styles which include sparkling wines that can compete with Champagne, luscious sweet wines, invigorating whites and elegant, fruit driven reds. The selection of wines from Master Sommelier Edouard Oger and Head Sommelier Marko Magi will feature some top producers including the legendary Domaine Guiberteau Breze and Chateau Pierre-Bise.
This event will be hosted by Master Sommelier Edouard Oger who originates himself from the very heart of the Loire Valley. The evening will start at 7.00pm with canapés and a glass of Domaine de Veilloux Crémant de Loire taking seats at 7.30pm in the dining room for a superbly matched menu designed by Michael Caines and prepared by his kitchen team.
